I’m not a really big fan of detective shows. However, recently I’ve been watching this show called, “Castle” on ABC and I am in love with it. At first it didn’t really appeal to me but as I began to watch it more, the more I became addicted to it. The storyline of Castle is fantastic and it make the storylines of all the other “detective” shows seem fickle and crass. This is definitely a show worth checking out, it’s on Monday’s at nine on ABC.

Stop Hatin’ on Toyota

Ever since Toyota issued their recalls, I’ve been teased by the fact that I drive a Toyota Corolla. However, all these haters, I mean, idiots who don’t have their facts straight, need to know that my car wasn’t apart of the recalls. The recalls were for 2007 Toyota Corollas, not 2005. So everyone who thinks I have a faulty accelerator, and will probably drive off a bridge, hate to disappoint you but I’m going to cross that bridge. And, I’m going to look fly doing it.

We’re Going to the Ship

This weekend Mac beasted at the District UIL competitions. My Social Studies team did awesome placing first place team with Jin-Ae placing 2nd in individuals and me placing 3rd. Now we’re headed off towards the ship starting with Regionals at Texas Tech. Great job to the Spelling, Accounting, Calculator, Number Sense, and Ready Writing and congratulations to Stephanie Akpunku, Marielle Ngoue, Prithivi Shai, Zirwa Baseer, Maleek Abbas, Joanna Zambroata, Lauren Davis, Vania Aragon, and everybody else who placed.

Deep Tissue Massage or a Snake Massage?

I recently heard about this spa in Israel that gives people snake massages. The spa uses harmless California and Florida king snakes, corn snakes and milk snakes. Personally I would much rather prefer a hot stone massage rather than a snake massage because what if one day one of the snakes go crazy and wraps it around your throat and chokes you to death. But in the end to each his own, if someone prefers a snake massage then so be it.

Movies to Watch (March 12, 2010)

The highly anticipated Robert Pattinson movie “Remember Me” finally came out this weekend, and to say the least I was very disappointed. The movie’s storyline was very fickle and there was some bad acting on the part of Pattinson. I think if it weren’t for Pattinson the movie would have bombed at the box office. Anyways, the movie is about two people who are very unhappy due to tragic events that have occurred in their lives; however, when they find each other they began to see life in a new way. In the end it’s foreshadowed that Pattionson dies in the September 11 attacks.

The movie that I definitely enjoyed was Green Zone with Matt Damon. This was a very dramatic action packed movie and it had a very good storyline. Matt Damon is an army officer who is in Iraq to find weapons of mass destruction. In his search to find and destroy the weapons he uncovers a plot of corruption and lies centered around these weapons, and he begins it his mission to find out what everyone else is trying to cover up. I would give this movie four out of five stars.

Crazy Neighbor Part II

Today my crazy neighbor started yelling at me for stealing her parking spot, once again. Does she not realize the policy of first come first served, its not like I take her parking spot on purpose. So today she tells me to move it and I’m like no I got here first, but today lucky for me one of the apartment managers was passing by. Maggie (the manager) came over to see what our dispute was about and I’m glad to say she really stuck it to crazy neighbor lady. In the end, Maggie managed to smooth things over by stating that I got the parking spot first, so technically it was mine. At first crazy didn’t like this but Maggie managed to get her to park elsewhere, but before crazy left she shoot me a look that basically said “I hope you die a slow, pain, traumatic death.” I really think one these days my crazy neighbor might snap and just pop a cap in me.

Good Eats

I’ve never been to Mi Cocina, but this week my family and I dined there and it is one of best restaurants that I have ever eaten at. The food is typical Tex-Mex cuisine, but there is a zing that the food has that you can’t get any where else. Also the service was impeccable and we got our food like two minutes after we ordered. But back to the food, I ordered the chicken fajitas and to me it tasted like a true Mexican dish. The sauce was prepared just right, and it had the right degree of spiciness and the chicken totally blew me away because it was cooked very well and it was really tender and juicy. This is a restaurant worth eating at because it will forever change your life, so go check it out this weekend. Movies to Watch (February 26)

This weekend my friends and I are going to watch Shutter Island and The Crazies. Shutter Island is about two U.S. Marshalls who go to a criminally insane asylum to track down a missing woman prisoner. However, when they arrive at the asylum, they become caught up in the sick, twisted plot and they begin to wonder if they will be able to escape the island or become one of its victims. It stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Mark Ruffalo, and Michelle Williams. This movie is a must-see for those who are fans of horror movies. The Crazies is about a town which has become infected by a biological toxin which makes the whole town go crazy. After being infected the people of the town become insane bloodthirsty killers, the sheriff, his wife, his deputy, and an assistant medical examiner are the only ones who aren’t infected and they try to avoid the “crazies” and get out of the town alive. These are two great movies that are definitely worth watching.

After watching the US play, out-skill, out-manuever, and demolish China, power-house Russia, and Sweden I’m totally confident that these ladies will be victorious in their pursuit of a gold medal. A Little Goes a Long Way

Last weekend my NHS group and I volunteered at a church mission. When we arrived, we were split into two groups: the guys and the girls. Needless to say the girls ruled and the guys drooled. After volunteering I felt good because to me I felt like I actually did something that would be beneficial to someone else. I know fours hours of volunteering won’t change the world but it will at least help someone in need. In todays’ world most people care only about themselves, but they need to realize that its not always about them. They need to realize that to all the suffering people out there, a little bit of help goes a long way.
